Why tailoring beats a generic CV
The same CV sent to every role quietly underperforms. Large employers funnel applications through an applicant tracking system that scores relevance partly on how well your language matches the posting, and the recruiter who reads it skims for the same evidence. A CV that never echoes the role's core terms can be down-ranked before a human sees it. Tailoring is not about gaming the system; it is about making your real experience legible to it, in the words the employer themselves chose.
This tool does the tedious part for you. It reads the job description, rewrites your bullets to lead with the outcomes and terms that matter for that role, and shows you the score change so you can see the tailoring working rather than take it on faith.
How it works
- 01Paste the job description you are applying to, then upload your CV as a PDF or Word file. The file is parsed in your browser and never uploaded.
- 02We extract your CV into a clean structure and rewrite your experience bullets to match the language and priorities of the job, staying strictly truthful to what you already wrote.
- 03You see your ATS score before and after, including the keyword match against the job. Then pick an ATS-safe template and download the tailored CV as PDF or Word.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it copy my CV's original design?
- No, and that is deliberate. The tool re-renders your content into a clean, single-column, ATS-safe template rather than pixel-copying your uploaded layout. Copying an arbitrary PDF design reliably is not possible, and the busy multi-column designs that are hardest to copy are the same ones applicant tracking systems break on. Re-rendering into a parse-safe template is what actually maximises how far your CV gets.
- Will it invent experience to match the job?
- No. The rewriting step is instructed to stay truthful: it only reshapes the wording of bullets you already wrote so they speak the job's language and lead with impact. It does not add employers, technologies, or metrics you do not have. If the job needs something genuinely missing from your CV, that gap is real information for you, not something the tool papers over.
- How is the ATS score calculated?
- The same engine that powers our ATS resume checker scores your CV on formatting, structure, content, contact details, and keyword match against the job description you pasted. You see the score for your original CV and for the tailored version, so the change is concrete rather than a vague promise.
- Is anything uploaded or stored?
- Your CV file is read and parsed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded. To rewrite your bullets, only the extracted text and the job description are sent to the AI step, which is rate-limited and does not store your content. Close the tab and everything is gone.
